the hierophant
Keywords: Values, Higher Learning, Conformity
Zodiac Sign: Taurus
Ruling Planet: Venus
Now that our fool has mastered the art of manifestation, discovered her intuition and met her Divine Mother and Father, she must find where she fits in the world.
Here we have The Hierophant. This card is commonly associated with higher learning, career, education and values. In many of the illustrations for The Hierophant, there is a priest-like figure sitting between two pillars. Before her is what looks to be a either a congregation or husband and wife to-be. She (although typically a βheβ), will usually have two keys either at her feet or around her neck to represent the unlocking of wisdom, enlightenment and levelling up.
The priest usually has two fingers pointing to the sky on one hand and a sceptre in another symbolising a pledge of some sort. This always reminds me of a cult leader and is usually a good sign if your question is regarding growing followers or the acceptance into a school or new job.
Generally speaking when The Hierophant falls out it is drawing attention to how and where we see ourselves in the world, what our values are and where they stem from. It can also suggest marriage or spiritual enlightenment.
On a lesser note, this card asks us to be mindful about who we accept council from. Not all leaders are genuine.
